New Volunteer and Work in the
Summer Garden
Thank you Food Aware CIC for another generous donation helping the local community in Balby.
Our hampers were topped up with fresh fruit and veg from Tesco's.
Pioneer needs drivers to cover periods of regular volunteer staff leave. Apologies to some of our pensioners whose delivery was delayed to Saturday due to volume and a driver being off.
Thank you to Ian for volunteering his car and driving all day Saturday to ensure everyone received their hampers.
Also a big well done to our gardening team who have been very busy controlling weeds in our garden recently.
Weasel's Spring Onions are ready for use, whilst Levi transformed a mini-seating area in an afternoon.
Travis and Connor unearthed an old petrol lawnmower which we will recycle, and prepared a new raised vegetable patch by clearing weeds, and in the afternoon Weasel planted our Lettuce seedlings into the bed which Connor had set out.
We also had a visitor to our bird box in the garden which we thought we would share with everyone!
