Volunteer's Garden Projects
Our volunteers have been busy this year working hard in the garden at Pioneer Social Enterprise Ltd. helping to keep the area look presentable and welcoming to visitors and creating nice areas for volunteers to have lunch.

As part of our gardening project, volunteers created an extensive vegetable patch and grew several varieties of tomatoes, carrots, aubergines, beans, cucumber and courgette.

Unfortunately, some cabbage whites have made a meal out of some of our potted plants!
Poorly carrot!
Aside from planting veggies in the garden, some of our volunteers started repainting our sheds with a coat of rustic brown paint.
We also bought two temporary greenhouses to store our potted vegetable plants including tomatoes.
At the start of the year we put up two greenhouses, but sadly due to the August winds one of these has blown over.
On our last garden party, we had the pleasure to welcome some of our service users and volunteers to an outdoors garden party.
During the event, we managed to confer with the attendees and hear their views on the local area. We also offered a variety of refreshments that were prepared by our own volunteers.
The final garden party will be held next Thursday
on the 15th September which is open to all those
benefitting from our food bank service.

Garden Get Together
As you can see, we had very positive feedback and look forward to meeting with more of our friends and associates at Pioneer.
We have invested in some solar-powered bulbs in our garden to help support the environment and bring some bright light in the evenings.
